Matthew 12:20

³He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a dimly burning wick. He will faithfully bring justice. ⁴He will not fail nor be discouraged, until he has set justice in the earth, and the islands wait for his law.”

¹⁶“I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong. I will feed them in justice.”’

¹The Lord GOD’s Spirit is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to those who are bound,^2[+] to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, ³to provide for those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.

¹⁸“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted,^[+] to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,

³He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

³¹For the Lord will not cast off forever. ³²For though he causes grief, yet he will have compassion according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses. ³³For he does not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men. ³⁴To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,

¹⁷The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. O God, you will not despise a broken and contrite heart.

¹²Therefore lift up the hands that hang down and the feeble knees, ¹³and make straight paths for your feet,so what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.

⁷so that, on the contrary, you should rather forgive him and comfort him, lest by any means such a one should be swallowed up with his excessive sorrow.

²⁸“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
