Malachi 1:14

¹But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, ²and kept back part of the price, his wife also being aware of it, then brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. ³But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the price of the land? ⁴While you kept it, didn’t it remain your own? After it was sold, wasn’t it in your power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You haven’t lied to men, but to God.”

⁵Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and died. Great fear came on all who heard these things. ⁶The young men arose and wrapped him up, and they carried him out and buried him. ⁷About three hours later, his wife, not knowing what had happened, came in. ⁸Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much.” She said, “Yes, for so much.”

⁹But Peter asked her, “How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”

¹⁰She fell down immediately at his feet and died. The young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.

¹²For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don’t have.

⁴When you vow a vow to God, don’t defer to pay it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay that which you vow. ⁵It is better that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay.

⁸When you offer the blind for sacrifice, isn’t that evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, isn’t that evil? Present it now to your governor! Will he be pleased with you? Or will he accept your person?” says the LORD of Armies.

¹²He will cut off the spirit of princes. He is feared by the kings of the earth.

⁴⁶then the lord of that servant will come in a day when he isn’t expecting him and in an hour that he doesn’t know, and will cut him in two, and place his portion with the unfaithful.

¹⁰But the LORD is the true God. He is the living God, and an everlasting King. At his wrath, the earth trembles. The nations aren’t able to withstand his indignation.

¹Meanwhile, when a multitude of many thousands had gathered together, so much so that they trampled on each other, he began to tell his disciples first of all, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. ²But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.

⁹The LORD will be King over all the earth. In that day the LORD will be one, and his name one.

⁸But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners,abominable, ^[+] murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers,^[+] idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
