Luke 9:51

⁵The Lord GOD has opened my ear. I was not rebellious. I have not turned back. ⁶I gave my back to those who beat me, and my cheeks to those who plucked off the hair. I didn’t hide my face from shame and spitting. ⁷For the Lord GOD will help me. Therefore I have not been confounded. Therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I won’t be disappointed. ⁸He who justifies me is near. Who will bring charges against me? Let us stand up together. Who is my adversary? Let him come near to me. ⁹Behold, the Lord GOD will help me! Who is he who will condemn me? Behold, they will all grow old like a garment. The moths will eat them up.

³¹He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.

¹⁹So then the Lord,^[+] after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

²²He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.

^22[+] Now, behold, I go bound by the Spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there; ²³except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions wait for me. ²⁴But these things don’t count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.

²⁸Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

¹¹Coming to us and taking Paul’s belt, he bound his own feet and hands, and said, “The Holy Spirit says: ‘So the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt, and will deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’”

¹²When we heard these things, both we and the people of that place begged him not to go up to Jerusalem. ¹³Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

¹⁴When he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, “The Lord’s will be done.”

¹¹As he was on his way to Jerusalem, he was passing along the borders of Samaria and Galilee.

²⁰which he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,

¹When the LORD was about to take Elijah up by a whirlwind into heaven, Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. ²Elijah said to Elisha, “Please wait here, for the LORD has sent me as far as Bethel.” Elisha said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

³The sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from over you today?” He said, “Yes, I know it. Hold your peace.”
