Luke 9:32

¹⁸Now as he was speaking with me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face toward the ground; but he touched me and set me upright.

¹⁴The Word became flesh and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only born^[+] of the Father, full of grace and truth.

⁴⁰He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What, couldn’t you watch with me for one hour? ⁴¹Watch and pray, that you don’t enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

⁴²Again, a second time he went away and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cup can’t pass away from me unless I drink it, your desire be done.”

⁴³He came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.

⁹Yet I heard the voice of his words. When I heard the voice of his words, then I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground.

⁴⁵When he rose up from his prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping because of grief, ⁴⁶and said to them, “Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

¹⁸Moses said, “Please show me your glory.”

¹⁹He said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the LORD’s name before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.” ²⁰He said, “You cannot see my face, for man may not see me and live.” ²¹The LORD also said, “Behold, there is a place by me, and you shall stand on the rock. ²²It will happen, while my glory passes by, that I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and will cover you with my hand until I have passed by; ²³then I will take away my hand, and you will see my back; but my face shall not be seen.”

¹⁹The sun will be no more your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon give light to you, but the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.

²⁴Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.

¹“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the LORD’s glory has risen on you! ²For behold, darkness will cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you. ³Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

⁴They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. ⁵There will be no night, and they need no lamp light or sun light; for the Lord God will illuminate them. They will reign forever and ever.
