Luke 8:24

³⁹He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.

²⁵For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves. ²⁶They mount up to the sky; they go down again to the depths. Their soul melts away because of trouble. ²⁷They reel back and forth, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end. ²⁸Then they cry to the LORD in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distress. ²⁹He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still.

⁵Simon answered him, “Master, we worked all night and caught nothing; but at your word I will let down the net.”

⁹Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead, ¹⁰who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver, on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us,

⁶You covered it with the deep as with a cloak. The waters stood above the mountains. ⁷At your rebuke they fled. At the voice of your thunder they hurried away. ⁸The mountains rose, the valleys sank down, to the place which you had assigned to them. ⁹You have set a boundary that they may not pass over, that they don’t turn again to cover the earth.

⁷You still the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations.

²Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the wedding. ³When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine.”

⁴Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.”

⁵His mother said to the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.”

⁶Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews’ way of purifying, containing two or three metretes

⁴He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers. Bashan and Carmel languish. The flower of Lebanon languishes.

²²Don’t you fear me?’ says the LORD; ‘Won’t you tremble at my presence, who have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it can’t pass it? Though its waves toss themselves, yet they can’t prevail. Though they roar, they still can’t pass over it.’

¹Save me, God, for the waters have come up to my neck! ²I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold. I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.
