Luke 6:42

²¹You therefore who teach another, don’t you teach yourself? You who preach that a man shouldn’t steal, do you steal? ²²You who say a man shouldn’t commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? ²³You who glory in the law, do you dishonor God by disobeying the law? ²⁴For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,”just as it is written. ²⁵For circumcision indeed profits, if you are a doer of the law, but if you are a transgressor of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. ²⁶If therefore the uncircumcised keep the ordinances of the law, won’t his uncircumcision be accounted as circumcision? ²⁷Won’t those who are physically uncircumcised, but fulfill the law, judge you, who with the letter and circumcision are a transgressor of the law? ²⁸For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh; ²⁹but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.

¹⁰You are witnesses with God how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe. ¹¹As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you, as a father does his own children, ¹²to the end that you should walk worthily of God, who calls you into his own Kingdom and glory.

¹³“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and as a pretense you make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.

¹⁴“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the Kingdom of Heaven against men; for you don’t enter in yourselves, neither do you allow those who are entering in to enter.^15[+] Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel around by sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of Gehenna^[+] as yourselves.

⁹Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all of my iniquities. ¹⁰Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. ¹¹Don’t throw me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. ¹²Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit. ¹³Then I will teach transgressors your ways. Sinners will be converted to you.

¹⁸But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation;

³⁸Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

³²but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn’t fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers.”

¹Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things.

¹⁰I appeal to you for my child Onesimus, whom I have become the father of in my chains,^11[+] who once was useless to you, but now is useful to you and to me.

¹⁷He who pleads his cause first seems right— until another comes and questions him.
