Luke 4:22

⁵⁴Coming into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom and these mighty works? ⁵⁵Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother called Mary, and his brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?⁵⁶Aren’^[+] t all of his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all of these things?”

²You are the most excellent of the sons of men. Grace has anointed your lips, therefore God has blessed you forever.

⁴²They said, “Isn’t this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then does he say, ‘I have come down out of heaven’?”

¹⁰They weren’t able to withstand the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.

²When the Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things?” and, “What is the wisdom that is given to this man, that such mighty works come about by his hands? ³Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James, Joses, Judah, and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” So they were offended at him.

¹⁰The Preacher sought to find out acceptable words, and that which was written blamelessly, words of truth. ¹¹The words of the wise are like goads; and like nails well fastened are words from the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

⁴⁶The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this man!”

¹⁵for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict.

³²The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse.

⁴In your majesty ride on victoriously on behalf of truth, humility, and righteousness. Let your right hand display awesome deeds.
