Luke 3:2

⁶Annas the high priest was there, with Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and as many as were relatives of the high priest.

²⁴Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas, the high priest.

¹Now the LORD’s ^[+] word came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,

⁸⁰The child was growing and becoming strong in spirit, and was in the desert until the day of his public appearance to Israel.

³Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas.

¹The LORD’s ^[+] word which came to Zephaniah, the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah, the son of Amon, king of Judah.

⁴⁹But a certain one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all, ⁵⁰nor do you consider that it is advantageous for us that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish.” ⁵¹Now he didn’t say this of himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation,

¹³and led him to Annas first, for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year. ¹⁴Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jews that it was expedient that one man should perish for the people.

³The voice of one who calls out, “Prepare the way of the LORD in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.

¹The LORD’s ^[+] word that came to Micah of Morasheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.
