Luke 16:16

⁹But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet. ¹⁰For this is he, of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’¹¹Most certainly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he. ¹²From the days of John the Baptizer until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.^13[+] For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. ¹⁴If you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.

³²For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn’t believe him; but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw it, you didn’t even repent afterward, that you might believe him.

²⁴Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, also told of these days. ²⁵You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘All the families of the earth will be blessed through your offspring.’

⁴⁵Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the law and also the prophets, wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

²⁶But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet. ²⁷This is he of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’

²⁸“For I tell you, among those who are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in God’s Kingdom is greater than he.”

²⁹When all the people and the tax collectors heard this, they declared God to be just, having been baptized with John’s baptism.

²“Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!”

³¹“He said to him, ‘If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if one rises from the dead.’”

¹⁸But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.

²⁹“But Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them.’

⁹Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’
