Luke 13:23

¹⁴How^[+] narrow is the gate and the way is restricted that leads to life! There are few who find it.

¹⁴For many are called, but few chosen.”

¹³One of the multitude said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

¹⁴But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or an arbitrator over you?” ¹⁵He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”

²¹Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, “Lord, what about this man?”

²²Jesus said to him, “If I desire that he stay until I come, what is that to you? You follow me.”

¹⁶So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few are chosen.”

³As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?”

⁴Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray. ⁵For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray.

²⁵When the disciples heard it, they were exceedingly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”

⁷They asked him, “Teacher, so when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are about to happen?”

⁸He said, “Watch out that you don’t get led astray, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ ^[+] and, ‘The time is at hand.’ Therefore don’t follow them.

⁷He said to them, “It isn’t for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set within his own authority. ⁸But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”

⁴“Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are all about to be fulfilled?”

⁵Jesus, answering, began to tell them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray.
