Luke 11:49

³⁰Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,

³in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.

¹¹He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds^[+] and teachers;

²⁴but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God;

¹Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars. ²She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. She has also set her table. ³She has sent out her maidens. She cries from the highest places of the city:

⁶and the rest grabbed his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them.

^34[+] Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets, wise men, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify; and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city, ³⁵that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the altar. ³⁶Most certainly I tell you, all these things will come upon this generation.

⁴⁷and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

²to know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding; ³to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity; ⁴to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young man— ⁵that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsel; ⁶to understand a proverb and parables, the words and riddles of the wise.

⁸But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”
