Leviticus 19:14

¹⁸‘Cursed is he who leads the blind astray on the road.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

³²“‘You shall rise up before the gray head and honor the face of the elderly; and you shall fear your God. I am the LORD.

¹⁷You shall not wrong one another, but you shall fear your God; for I am the LORD your God.

¹³Therefore let’s not judge one another any more, but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block in his brother’s way, or an occasion for falling.

¹⁷Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

¹⁵But the former governors who were before me were supported by the people, and took bread and wine from them, plus forty shekels^[+] of silver; yes, even their servants ruled over the people, but I didn’t do so, because of the fear of God.

¹⁴But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.

⁸But food will not commend us to God. For neither, if we don’t eat are we the worse, nor if we eat are we the better. ⁹But be careful that by no means does this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak. ¹⁰For if a man sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol’s temple, won’t his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols? ¹¹And through your knowledge, he who is weak perishes, the brother for whose sake Christ died. ¹²Thus, sinning against the brothers, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ. ¹³Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat forever more, that I don’t cause my brother to stumble.

¹⁸Joseph said to them the third day, “Do this, and live, for I fear God.

¹⁴Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse.
