Job 40:9

⁴After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard. ⁵God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.

¹³You have a mighty arm. Your hand is strong, and your right hand is exalted.

³The LORD’s voice is on the waters. The God of glory thunders, even the LORD on many waters.

³My heart was hot within me. While I meditated, the fire burned. I spoke with my tongue: ⁴“LORD, show me my end, what is the measure of my days. Let me know how frail I am. ⁵Behold, you have made my days hand widths. My lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely every man stands as a breath.” Selah. ⁶“Surely every man walks like a shadow. Surely they busy themselves in vain. He heaps up, and doesn’t know who shall gather. ⁷Now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in you. ⁸Deliver me from all my transgressions. Don’t make me the reproach of the foolish. ⁹I was mute. I didn’t open my mouth, because you did it.

⁹Woe to him who strives with his Maker— a clay pot among the clay pots of the earth! Shall the clay ask him who fashions it, ‘What are you making?’ or your work, ‘He has no hands’?

¹²“Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man. ¹³Why do you strive against him, because he doesn’t give account of any of his matters?

¹⁰You have broken Rahab in pieces, like one of the slain. You have scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.

²²Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

⁶Your right hand, LORD, is glorious in power. Your right hand, LORD, dashes the enemy in pieces.

⁴God is wise in heart, and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against him and prospered?
