Job 38:19

⁸I will make all the bright lights of the sky dark over you, and set darkness on your land,” says the Lord GOD.

³God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. ⁴God saw the light, and saw that it was good. God divided the light from the darkness.

¹⁴God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs to mark seasons, days, and years; ¹⁵and let them be for lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth;” and it was so. ¹⁶God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars. ¹⁷God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light to the earth, ¹⁸and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. God saw that it was good.

²⁰You make darkness, and it is night, in which all the animals of the forest prowl.

⁷I form the light and create darkness. I make peace and create calamity. I am the LORD, who does all these things.

¹⁹and lest you lift up your eyes to the sky, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the army of the sky, you are drawn away and worship them, and serve them, which the LORD your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole sky.

¹¹He made darkness his hiding place, his pavilion around him, darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.

⁴⁵Now from the sixth hour^[+] there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.

¹²“Have you commanded the morning in your days, and caused the dawn to know its place, ¹³that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, and shake the wicked out of it?

²⁸He sent darkness, and made it dark. They didn’t rebel against his words.
