Job 38:16

¹⁶“Have you entered into the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in the recesses of the deep?

¹⁶Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?

¹⁶Have you journeyed to the vents of the sea or walked in the trenches of the deep?

¹⁶Have you entered the sources of the sea? Have you explored their hidden depths?

²⁴When there were no depths, I was born, when there were no springs abounding with water.

¹⁹Your way was through the sea, your paths through the great waters. Your footsteps were not known.

⁵“The departed spirits tremble, those beneath the waters and all that live in them. ⁶Sheol^[+] is naked before God, and Abaddon^[+] has no covering.

³⁶Therefore the LORD says: “Behold, I will plead your cause, and take vengeance for you. I will dry up her sea, and make her fountain dry.
