Job 38:1

⁶Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind:

¹¹He said, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” Behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake.

¹¹As they continued on and talked, behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire separated them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

¹⁶On the third day, when it was morning, there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of an exceedingly loud trumpet; and all the people who were in the camp trembled. ¹⁷Moses led the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lower part of the mountain. ¹⁸All of Mount Sinai smoked, because the LORD descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly. ¹⁹When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.

¹“Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place. ²Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth.

⁴I looked, and behold, ^[+] a stormy wind came out of the north: a great cloud, with flashing lightning, and a brightness around it, and out of the middle of it as it were glowing metal, out of the middle of the fire.

¹When the LORD was about to take Elijah up by a whirlwind into heaven, Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

⁹Out of its room comes the storm, and cold out of the north.

³The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. The LORD has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

¹¹You came near and stood under the mountain. The mountain burned with fire to the heart of the sky, with darkness, cloud, and thick darkness. ¹²The LORD spoke to you out of the middle of the fire: you heard the voice of words, but you saw no form; you only heard a voice.
