Job 33:24

⁷none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give God a ransom for him. ⁸For the redemption of their life is costly, no payment is ever enough,

¹⁸knowing that you were redeemed, not with corruptible things like silver or gold, from the useless way of life handed down from your fathers, ¹⁹but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish or spot, the blood of Christ,

¹⁸He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.

²⁸even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

⁶who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony at the proper time,

⁴“I will heal their waywardness. I will love them freely; for my anger is turned away from them.

¹⁸Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, and passes over the disobedience of the remnant of his heritage? He doesn’t retain his anger forever, because he delights in loving kindness. ¹⁹He will again have compassion on us. He will tread our iniquities under foot. You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. ²⁰You will give truth to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

¹⁹He said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the LORD’s name before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.”

²¹“Acquaint yourself with him now, and be at peace. By it, good will come to you.

¹¹As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant, I have set free your prisoners from the pit in which is no water.
