Job 3:17

¹³I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their works follow with them.”

¹⁶Shall it go down with me to the gates of Sheol,or ^[+] descend together into the dust?”

¹The righteous perish, and no one lays it to heart. Merciful men are taken away, and no one considers that the righteous is taken away from the evil. ²He enters into peace. They rest in their beds, each one who walks in his uprightness.

⁹There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God.

¹³“Oh that you would hide me in Sheol,^[+] that you would keep me secret until your wrath is past, that you would appoint me a set time and remember me!

¹¹Let’s therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.

⁵Fearfulness and trembling have come on me. Horror has overwhelmed me. ⁶I said, “Oh that I had wings like a dove! Then I would fly away, and be at rest. ⁷Behold, then I would wander far off. I would lodge in the wilderness.” Selah. ⁸“I would hurry to a shelter from the stormy wind and storm.”

²⁸Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

⁶For it is a righteous thing with God to repay affliction to those who afflict you, ⁷and to give relief to you who are afflicted with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire,

⁴“I tell you, my friends, don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
