Job 3:1

¹⁴Cursed is the day in which I was born. Don’t let the day in which my mother bore me be blessed. ¹⁵Cursed is the man who brought news to my father, saying, “A boy is born to you,” making him very glad.

³³because they were rebellious against his spirit, he spoke rashly with his lips.

²I was mute with silence. I held my peace, even from good. My sorrow was stirred. ³My heart was hot within me. While I meditated, the fire burned. I spoke with my tongue:

²²In all this, Job didn’t sin, nor charge God with wrongdoing.

³“Let the day perish in which I was born, the night which said, ‘There is a boy conceived.’

⁵But stretch out your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will renounce you to your face.”

⁹Then his wife said to him, “Do you still maintain your integrity? Renounce God, and die.”

¹⁰But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all this Job didn’t sin with his lips.

¹⁶therefore Job opens his mouth with empty talk, and he multiplies words without knowledge.”

¹¹But stretch out your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will renounce you to your face.”
