Job 26:2

³Strengthen the weak hands, and make the feeble knees firm. ⁴Tell those who have a fearful heart, “Be strong! Don’t be afraid! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, God’s retribution. He will come and save you.

³Behold, you have instructed many, you have strengthened the weak hands. ⁴Your words have supported him who was falling, you have made the feeble knees firm.

⁴I also could speak as you do. If your soul were in my soul’s place, I could join words together against you, and shake my head at you, ⁵but I would strengthen you with my mouth. The solace of my lips would relieve you.

²⁵How forcible are words of uprightness! But your reproof, what does it reprove?

²⁷At noon, Elijah mocked them, and said, “Cry aloud, for he is a god. Either he is deep in thought, or he has gone somewhere, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he sleeps and must be awakened.”

²“No doubt, but you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.

⁹Don’t reject me in my old age. Don’t forsake me when my strength fails.

¹²Is my strength the strength of stones? Or is my flesh of bronze?

⁵The islands have seen, and fear. The ends of the earth tremble. They approach, and come. ⁶Everyone helps his neighbor. They say to their brothers, “Be strong!” ⁷So the carpenter encourages the goldsmith. He who smooths with the hammer encourages him who strikes the anvil, saying of the soldering, “It is good;” and he fastens it with nails, that it might not totter.

¹⁴Who did he take counsel with, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding?
