John 8:20

³⁰They sought therefore to take him; but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.

⁴¹Jesus sat down opposite the treasury and saw how the multitude cast money into the treasury. Many who were rich cast in much.

⁸You go up to the feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, because my time is not yet fulfilled.”

⁴⁴Some of them would have arrested him, but no one laid hands on him.

^43[+] He called his disciples to himself and said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, this poor widow gave more than all those who are giving into the treasury,

⁶The chief priests took the pieces of silver and said, “It’s not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood.”

³⁹They sought again to seize him, and he went out of their hand.

⁵⁹Therefore they took up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple, having gone through the middle of them, and so passed by.

⁹Jesus answered, “Aren’t there twelve hours of daylight? If a man walks in the day, he doesn’t stumble, because he sees the light of this world. ¹⁰But if a man walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light isn’t in him.”

²⁶for the four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the rooms and over the treasuries in God’s house.
