John 5:9

⁷He took him by the right hand and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received strength. ⁸Leaping up, he stood and began to walk. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God.

¹⁴It was a Sabbath when Jesus made the mud and opened his eyes.

²They watched him, whether he would heal him on the Sabbath day, that they might accuse him. ³He said to the man whose hand was withered, “Stand up.” ⁴He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath day to do good or to do harm? To save a life or to kill?” But they were silent.

⁴²When he had said this, immediately the leprosy departed from him and he was made clean.

¹⁰And behold, there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?” so that they might accuse him.

¹¹He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if this one falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, won’t he grab on to it and lift it out? ¹²Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day.” ¹³Then he told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out; and it was restored whole, just like the other.

²⁹Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.

³¹He came and took her by the hand and raised her up. The fever left her immediately,^[+] and she served them.

⁴¹Taking the child by the hand, he said to her, “Talitha cumi!” which means, being interpreted, “Girl, I tell you, get up!” ⁴²Immediately the girl rose up and walked, for she was twelve years old. They were amazed with great amazement.

⁵²Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the way.

¹⁰He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day. ¹¹Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. She was bent over and could in no way straighten herself up. ¹²When Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.” ¹³He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God.

¹⁴The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”

¹⁵Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to water? ¹⁶Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”
