John 3:6

¹⁶But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. ¹⁷For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire. ¹⁸But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. ¹⁹Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, ²⁰idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, ²¹envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.

²⁶I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. ²⁷I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes. You will keep my ordinances and do them.

⁴that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. ⁵For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. ⁶For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace; ⁷because the mind of the flesh is hostile toward God, for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be. ⁸Those who are in the flesh can’t please God.

⁹But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

¹⁷Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold,^[+] all things have become new.

⁴⁷The first man is of the earth, made of dust. The second man is the Lord from heaven. ⁴⁸As is the one made of dust, such are those who are also made of dust; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. ⁴⁹As we have borne the image of those made of dust, let’s^[+] also bear the image of the heavenly. ⁵⁰Now I say this, brothers,^[+] that flesh and blood can’t inherit God’s Kingdom; neither does the perishable inherit imperishable.

¹⁸For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good.

¹⁷But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.

⁹Whoever is born of God doesn’t commit sin, because his seed remains in him, and he can’t sin, because he is born of God.

¹²God saw the earth, and saw that it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.

¹⁰Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me.
