John 20:25

³⁰They said therefore to him, “What then do you do for a sign, that we may see and believe you? What work do you do?

¹¹When they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they disbelieved.

³²For all this they still sinned, and didn’t believe in his wondrous works.

¹²Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there might be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God;

⁴⁰God raised him up the third day and gave him to be revealed, ⁴¹not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

⁸Don’t harden your heart, as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness, ⁹when your fathers tempted me, tested me, and saw my work. ¹⁰Forty long years I was grieved with that generation, and said, “They are a people who err in their heart. They have not known my ways.”

³⁰The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed, hanging him on a tree. ³¹God exalted him with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins. ³²We are his witnesses of these things; and so also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”

¹⁴When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, and didn’t know that it was Jesus.

¹⁵Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?” She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”

¹⁶Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him, “Rabboni!”^[+] which is to say, “Teacher!”

^17[+] Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

¹⁸Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had said these things to her. ¹⁹When therefore it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were locked where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the middle and said to them, “Peace be to you.”

²⁰When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad when they saw the Lord.

¹The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven. ²But he answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ ³In the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but you can’t discern the signs of the times! ⁴An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there will be no sign given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” He left them and departed.
