John 15:16

⁵“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

⁶Then I said, “Ah, Lord^[+] GOD! Behold, ^[+] I don’t know how to speak; for I am a child.”

⁷But the LORD said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I am a child;’ for you must go to whomever I send you, and you must say whatever I command you.

¹⁹If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

¹⁰For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

¹⁵From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶Every Scripture is God-breathed and^[+] profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, ¹⁷that each person who belongs to God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

¹⁹We love him,^[+] because he first loved us.

¹⁵But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through his grace,

¹³When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:

¹⁴He said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know his will, and to see the Righteous One, and to hear a voice from his mouth.

¹⁴as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance, ¹⁵but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior, ¹⁶because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

¹⁷If you call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judges according to each man’s work, pass the time of your living as foreigners here in reverent fear, ¹⁸knowing that you were redeemed, not with corruptible things like silver or gold, from the useless way of life handed down from your fathers, ¹⁹but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish or spot, the blood of Christ, ²⁰who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in this last age for your sake, ²¹who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.

²The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same things to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
