Jeremiah 52:13

¹God, the nations have come into your inheritance. They have defiled your holy temple. They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.

¹²Therefore Zion for your sake will be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem will become heaps of rubble, and the mountain of the temple like the high places of a forest.

¹⁹They burned God’s house, broke down the wall of Jerusalem, burned all its palaces with fire, and destroyed all of its valuable vessels.

⁶Now they break all its carved work down with hatchet and hammers. ⁷They have burned your sanctuary to the ground. They have profaned the dwelling place of your Name. ⁸They said in their heart, “We will crush them completely.” They have burned up all the places in the land where God was worshiped.

¹¹“For, behold, the LORD commands, and the great house will be smashed to pieces, and the little house into bits.

¹⁰Your holy cities have become a wilderness. Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation. ¹¹Our holy and our beautiful house where our fathers praised you is burned with fire. All our pleasant places are laid waste.

⁵but I will send a fire on Judah, and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem.”

⁹He burned the LORD’s house, the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem. He burned every great house with fire.

¹⁰“Indeed they don’t know to do right,” says the LORD, “Who hoard plunder and loot in their palaces.”

¹¹Therefore the Lord GOD says: “An adversary will overrun the land; and he will pull down your strongholds, and your fortresses will be plundered.”

⁷The Lord has cast off his altar. He has abhorred his sanctuary. He has given the walls of her palaces into the hand of the enemy. They have made a noise in the LORD’s house, as in the day of a solemn assembly.
