Isaiah 30:4

¹¹The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish. The counsel of the wisest counselors of Pharaoh has become stupid. How do you say to Pharaoh, “I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings”?

⁷They came into the land of Egypt, for they didn’t obey the LORD’s voice; and they came to Tahpanhes.

⁹You went to the king with oil, increased your perfumes, sent your ambassadors far off, and degraded yourself even to Sheol.

⁴The king of Assyria discovered a conspiracy in Hoshea; for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and offered no tribute to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year. Therefore the king of Assyria seized him, and bound him in prison.

¹⁶They return, but not to the Most High. They are like a faulty bow. Their princes will fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue. This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.

²²They went up by the South, and came to Hebron; and Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were there. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

¹¹“Ephraim is like an easily deceived dove, without understanding. They call to Egypt. They go to Assyria. ¹²When they go, I will spread my net on them. I will bring them down like the birds of the sky. I will chastise them, as their congregation has heard.

¹⁸At Tehaphnehes also the day will withdraw itself, when I break the yokes of Egypt there. The pride of her power will cease in her. As for her, a cloud will cover her, and her daughters will go into captivity.

¹⁴I will make Pathros desolate, and will set a fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments on No.
