Isaiah 2:12

¹“For behold, the day comes, burning like a furnace, when all the proud and all who work wickedness will be stubble. The day that comes will burn them up,” says the LORD of Armies, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.

⁹The LORD of Armies has planned it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.

⁵Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; they shall certainly not be unpunished.

¹¹For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”

²¹It will happen in that day that the LORD will punish the army of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth on the earth.

¹⁸“Woe to you who desire the day of the LORD! Why do you long for the day of the LORD? It is darkness, and not light.

²⁰But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him. ²¹He was driven from the sons of men, and his heart was made like the animals’, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. He was fed with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the sky, until he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men, and that he sets up over it whomever he will.

²²“You, his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though you knew all this, ²³but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. You have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which don’t see, or hear, or know; and you have not glorified the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways. ²⁴Then the part of the hand was sent from before him, and this writing was inscribed.

³⁷Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those who walk in pride he is able to abase.

⁶But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

⁵you are to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
