Isaiah 13:6

¹⁵Alas for the day! For the day of the LORD is at hand, and it will come as destruction from the Almighty.

²For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night. ³For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman. Then they will in no way escape.

¹⁸“Woe to you who desire the day of the LORD! Why do you long for the day of the LORD? It is darkness, and not light.

⁷Be silent at the presence of the Lord^[+] GOD, for the day of the LORD is at hand. For the LORD has prepared a sacrifice. He has consecrated his guests.

²“Son of man, prophesy, and say, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Wail, ‘Alas for the day!’ ³For the day is near, even the LORD’s day is near. It will be a day of clouds, a time of the nations.

⁹Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger; to make the land a desolation, and to destroy its sinners out of it.

⁸Babylon has suddenly fallen and been destroyed! Wail for her! Take balm for her pain. Perhaps she may be healed.

¹⁴The great day of the LORD is near. It is near and hurries greatly, the voice of the day of the LORD. The mighty man cries there bitterly.

¹⁰standing far away for the fear of her torment, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For your judgment has come in one hour.’

⁸For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.
