Isaiah 1:15

⁴Then they will cry to the LORD, but he will not answer them. Yes, he will hide his face from them at that time, because they made their deeds evil.”

²But your iniquities have separated you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. ³For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity. Your lips have spoken lies. Your tongue mutters wickedness.

²⁸Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me,

¹³It has come to pass that, as he called and they refused to listen, so they will call and I will not listen,” said the LORD of Armies;

⁸Behold, you trust in lying words that can’t profit. ⁹Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods that you have not known, ¹⁰then come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, ‘We are delivered,’ that you may do all these abominations?

¹⁸If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened.

²⁵When once the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ ²⁶Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ ²⁷He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’ ²⁸There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.

¹²When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and meal offering, I will not accept them; but I will consume them by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.”

¹Listen to my prayer, God. Don’t hide yourself from my supplication.

²²Solomon stood before the LORD’s altar in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven;
