Hosea 6:6

¹³But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

⁷But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’you wouldn’t have condemned the guiltless.

³To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

²²Samuel said, “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the LORD’s voice? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.

²¹I hate, I despise your feasts, and I can’t stand your solemn assemblies.

¹Guard your steps when you go to God’s house; for to draw near to listen is better than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they don’t know that they do evil.

¹¹“What are the multitude of your sacrifices to me?”, says the LORD. “I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed animals. I don’t delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of male goats.

¹⁶He judged the cause of the poor and needy; so then it was well. Wasn’t this to know me?” says the LORD.

⁷Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

²⁷Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor. Perhaps there may be a lengthening of your tranquility.”
