Genesis 34:19

¹Now Naaman, captain of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him the LORD had given victory to Syria; he was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.

¹²Many of them therefore believed; also of the prominent Greek women, and not a few men.

²⁰The thin and ugly cattle ate up the first seven fat cattle;

⁹Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother named him Jabez,^[+] Because I bore him with sorrow.”

⁸Who has planned this against Tyre, the giver of crowns, whose merchants are princes, whose traders are the honorable of the earth? ⁹The LORD of Armies has planned it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.

⁵⁰But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and threw them out of their borders.

³the captain of fifty, the honorable man, the counselor, the skilled craftsman, and the clever enchanter. ⁴I will give boys to be their princes, and children shall rule over them. ⁵The people will be oppressed, everyone by another, and everyone by his neighbor. The child will behave himself proudly against the old man, and the wicked against the honorable.

¹³Therefore my people go into captivity for lack of knowledge. Their honorable men are famished, and their multitudes are parched with thirst.

⁴You will not be called Forsaken any more, nor will your land be called Desolate any more; but you will be called Hephzibah,^[+] and your land Beulah;^[+] for the LORD delights in you, and your land will be married.

¹⁵Balak again sent princes, more, and more honorable than they.
