Genesis 31:37

¹²having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good works and glorify God in the day of visitation.

¹⁸Pray for us, for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience, desiring to live honorably in all things.

¹⁶But if he doesn’t listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

³Here I am. Witness against me before the LORD and before his anointed. Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Of whose hand have I taken a bribe to make me blind my eyes? I will restore it to you.”

⁴They said, “You have not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither have you taken anything from anyone’s hand.”

⁴If then you have to judge things pertaining to this life, do you set them to judge who are of no account in the assembly? ⁵I say this to move you to shame. Isn’t there even one wise man among you who would be able to decide between his brothers?

¹⁰You are witnesses with God how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe.

²³They took them from the middle of the tent, and brought them to Joshua and to all the children of Israel. They laid them down before the LORD.

³²Anyone you find your gods with shall not live. Before our relatives, discern what is yours with me, and take it.” For Jacob didn’t know that Rachel had stolen them.

¹⁶having a good conscience. Thus, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ.
