Genesis 31:27

²⁰Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances.

²⁰Jacob deceived Laban the Syrian, in that he didn’t tell him that he was running away. ²¹So he fled with all that he had. He rose up, passed over the River, and set his face toward the mountain of Gilead.

⁵⁹They sent away Rebekah, their sister, with her nurse, Abraham’s servant, and his men. ⁶⁰They blessed Rebekah, and said to her, “Our sister, may you be the mother of thousands of ten thousands, and let your offspring possess the gate of those who hate them.”

³¹Jacob answered Laban, “Because I was afraid, for I said, ‘Lest you should take your daughters from me by force.’

²³Like silver dross on an earthen vessel are the lips of a fervent one with an evil heart. ²⁴A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but he harbors evil in his heart. ²⁵When his speech is charming, don’t believe him, for there are seven abominations in his heart. ²⁶His malice may be concealed by deception, but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

²⁷Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had spoken to him. Because he feared his father’s household and the men of the city, he could not do it by day, but he did it by night.

¹¹They send out their little ones like a flock. Their children dance. ¹²They sing to the tambourine and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the pipe. ¹³They spend their days in prosperity. In an instant they go down to Sheol.^14[+] They tell God, ‘Depart from us, for we don’t want to know about your ways.

²¹His brother’s name was Jubal, who was the father of all who handle the harp and pipe.

³The LORD said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your fathers, and to your relatives, and I will be with you.”

⁴Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field to his flock, ⁵and said to them, “I see the expression on your father’s face, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father has been with me.
