Ezekiel 7:25

¹⁷Our eyes still fail, looking in vain for our help. In our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save. ¹⁸They hunt our steps, so that we can’t go in our streets. Our end is near. Our days are fulfilled, for our end has come.

²¹“There is no peace”, says my God, “for the wicked.”

⁸They don’t know the way of peace; and there is no justice in their ways. They have made crooked paths for themselves; whoever goes in them doesn’t know peace. ⁹Therefore justice is far from us, and righteousness doesn’t overtake us. We look for light, but see darkness; for brightness, but we walk in obscurity. ¹⁰We grope for the wall like the blind. Yes, we grope as those who have no eyes. We stumble at noon as if it were twilight. Among those who are strong, we are like dead men. ¹¹We all roar like bears and moan sadly like doves. We look for justice, but there is none, for salvation, but it is far off from us. ¹²For our transgressions are multiplied before you, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and as for our iniquities, we know them:

¹⁵We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, and behold, dismay! ¹⁶The snorting of his horses is heard from Dan. The whole land trembles at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; for they have come, and have devoured the land and all that is in it, the city and those who dwell therein.”

¹⁰“‘Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, “Peace;” and there is no peace. When one builds up a wall, behold, they plaster it with whitewash.

¹²For the inhabitant of Maroth waits anxiously for good, because evil has come down from the LORD to the gate of Jerusalem.

¹⁶to wit, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace,’” says the Lord GOD.’”
