Exodus 30:12

⁵⁰We have brought the LORD’s offering, what every man found: gold ornaments, armlets, bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before the LORD.”

²⁵The silver of those who were counted of the congregation was one hundred talents^[+] and one thousand seven hundred seventy-five shekels,^[+] according to the shekel of the sanctuary: ²⁶a beka^[+] a head, that is, half a shekel, according to the shekel^[+] of the sanctuary, for everyone who passed over to those who were counted, from twenty years old and upward, for six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty men.

²⁴Joab the son of Zeruiah began to take a census, but didn’t finish; and wrath came on Israel for this. The number wasn’t put into the account in the chronicles of King David.

¹⁸knowing that you were redeemed, not with corruptible things like silver or gold, from the useless way of life handed down from your fathers, ¹⁹but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish or spot, the blood of Christ,

²⁸even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

⁷none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give God a ransom for him.

⁶The king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said to him, “Why haven’t you required of the Levites to bring in the tax of Moses the servant of the LORD, and of the assembly of Israel, out of Judah and out of Jerusalem, for the Tent of the Testimony?”

²“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, every male, one by one, ³from twenty years old and upward, all who are able to go out to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall count them by their divisions. ⁴With you there shall be a man of every tribe, each one head of his fathers’ house. ⁵These are the names of the men who shall stand with you: Of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur.

²“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ houses, all who are able to go out to war in Israel.” ³Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying, ⁴“Take a census, from twenty years old and upward, as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel.” These are those who came out of the land of Egypt.

⁴⁵For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
