Exodus 24:8

⁴For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. ⁵Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, “You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.

⁶Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

²⁵I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.

²⁸for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.

²⁵In the same way he also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me.”

²⁰Now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, our Lord Jesus,

²⁴He said to them, “This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many.

¹⁸Therefore even the first covenant has not been dedicated without blood. ¹⁹For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, ²⁰saying, “This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you.”

²¹He sprinkled the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry in the same way with the blood.

²according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with his blood: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

¹¹As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant, I have set free your prisoners from the pit in which is no water.
