Exodus 19:22

⁵He sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of cattle to the LORD.

¹⁵Then they killed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the second month. The priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought burnt offerings into the LORD’s house.

¹³For because you didn’t carry it at first, the LORD our God broke out in anger against us, because we didn’t seek him according to the ordinance.”

³For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves in sufficient number, and the people had not gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.

⁹When they came to Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled. ¹⁰The LORD’s anger burned against Uzza, and he struck him because he put his hand on the ark; and he died there before God. ¹¹David was displeased, because the LORD had broken out against Uzza. He called that place Perez Uzza, to this day.

⁵Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and died. Great fear came on all who heard these things.

⁶When they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached for God’s ark and took hold of it, for the cattle stumbled. ⁷The LORD’s anger burned against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by God’s ark. ⁸David was displeased because the LORD had broken out against Uzzah; and he called that place Perez Uzzah^[+] to this day.

¹Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer, and put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he had not commanded them. ²Fire came out from before the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

³Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD spoke of, saying, ‘I will show myself holy to those who come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.’” Aaron held his peace.

¹⁴Moses went down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes. ¹⁵He said to the people, “Be ready by the third day. Don’t have sexual relations with a woman.”

³⁰For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep. ³¹For if we discerned ourselves, we wouldn’t be judged. ³²But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
