Esther 7:6

⁵“Yes, the light of the wicked will be put out. The spark of his fire won’t shine. ⁶The light will be dark in his tent. His lamp above him will be put out. ⁷The steps of his strength will be shortened. His own counsel will cast him down. ⁸For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he wanders into its mesh. ⁹A snare will take him by the heel. A trap will catch him. ¹⁰A noose is hidden for him in the ground, a trap for him on the path. ¹¹Terrors will make him afraid on every side, and will chase him at his heels. ¹²His strength will be famished. Calamity will be ready at his side.

⁸Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the manifestation of his coming;

¹⁹If only you, God, would kill the wicked. Get away from me, you bloodthirsty men! ²⁰For they speak against you wickedly. Your enemies take your name in vain. ²¹LORD, don’t I hate those who hate you? Am I not grieved with those who rise up against you? ²²I hate them with perfect hatred. They have become my enemies.

¹³But those who are outside, God judges. “Put away the wicked man from among yourselves.”

¹³As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘Out of the wicked comes wickedness;’ but my hand will not be on you.

¹⁰The king took his ring from his hand, and gave it to Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews’ enemy.

¹⁶When all our enemies heard of it, all the nations that were around us were afraid, and they lost their confidence; for they perceived that this work was done by our God.

⁵They are free from burdens of men, neither are they plagued like other men. ⁶Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment. ⁷Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit. ⁸They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression. ⁹They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth.

¹⁷until I entered God’s sanctuary, and considered their latter end. ¹⁸Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction. ¹⁹How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors. ²⁰As a dream when one wakes up, so, Lord,^[+] when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.

²¹A sound of terrors is in his ears. In prosperity the destroyer will come on him. ²²He doesn’t believe that he will return out of darkness. He is waited for by the sword.
