Ephesians 6:4

²¹Fathers, don’t provoke your children, so that they won’t be discouraged.

⁶Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

¹⁵The rod of correction gives wisdom, but a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.

¹⁸Discipline your son, for there is hope; don’t be a willing party to his death.

⁷and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.

¹⁵From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

¹⁷Correct your son, and he will give you peace; yes, he will bring delight to your soul.

¹³Don’t withhold correction from a child. If you punish him with the rod, he will not die. ¹⁴Punish him with the rod, and save his soul from Sheol.

¹Listen, sons, to a father’s instruction. Pay attention and know understanding; ²for I give you sound learning. Don’t forsake my law. ³For I was a son to my father, tender and an only child in the sight of my mother. ⁴He taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words. Keep my commandments, and live.

¹⁹For I have known him, to the end that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that the LORD may bring on Abraham that which he has spoken of him.”
