Ecclesiastes 7:24

³³Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out!

¹⁶He alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen nor can see, to whom be honor and eternal power. Amen.

⁸“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says the LORD. ⁹“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

⁶This knowledge is beyond me. It’s lofty. I can’t attain it.

²⁸To man he said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord,^[+] that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.’”

⁶Your righteousness is like the mountains of God. Your judgments are like a great deep. LORD, you preserve man and animal.

⁷“Can you fathom the mystery of God? Or can you probe the limits of the Almighty? ⁸They are high as heaven. What can you do? They are deeper than Sheol.^[+] What can you know?

¹²“But where will wisdom be found? Where is the place of understanding? ¹³Man doesn’t know its price, and it isn’t found in the land of the living. ¹⁴The deep says, ‘It isn’t in me.’ The sea says, ‘It isn’t with me.’ ¹⁵It can’t be gotten for gold, neither will silver be weighed for its price. ¹⁶It can’t be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.^17[+] Gold and glass can’t equal it, neither will it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold. ¹⁸No mention will be made of coral or of crystal. Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies. ¹⁹The topaz of Ethiopia will not equal it. It won’t be valued with pure gold. ²⁰Where then does wisdom come from? Where is the place of understanding? ²¹Seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the birds of the sky. ²²Destruction and Death say, ‘We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.’ ²³“God understands its way, and he knows its place.

¹¹For this commandment which I command you today is not too hard for you or too distant. ¹²It is not in heaven, that you should say, “Who will go up for us to heaven, bring it to us, and proclaim it to us, that we may do it?” ¹³Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who will go over the sea for us, bring it to us, and proclaim it to us, that we may do it?” ¹⁴But the word is very near to you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.
