Deuteronomy 28:62

²²Your fathers went down into Egypt with seventy persons; and now the LORD your God has made you as the stars of the sky for multitude.

²⁷The LORD will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where the LORD will lead you away.

²³You also multiplied their children as the stars of the sky, and brought them into the land concerning which you said to their fathers that they should go in to possess it.

²⁰Unless the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the sake of the chosen ones, whom he picked out, he shortened the days.

⁴Now the city was wide and large; but the people were few therein, and the houses were not built.

²and said to Jeremiah the prophet, “Please let our supplication be presented before you, and pray for us to the LORD your God, even for all this remnant, for we are left but a few of many, as your eyes see us,

²⁷Isaiah cries concerning Israel, “If the number of the children of Israel are as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant who will be saved; ²⁸for he will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.”

²⁹As Isaiah has said before, “Unless the Lord of Armies^[+] had left us a seed, we would have become like Sodom, and would have been made like Gomorrah.”

¹⁴He carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths. No one remained except the poorest people of the land.

⁶Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell therein are found guilty. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left.

⁷For he didn’t leave to Jehoahaz of the people any more than fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria destroyed them and made them like the dust in threshing.
