Acts 8:4

²³But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man has come.

¹Saul was consenting to his death. A great persecution arose against the assembly which was in Jerusalem in that day. They were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except for the apostles.

²but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Good News of God in much conflict.

¹⁹They therefore who were scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews only.

^35[+] But Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

²But the disbelieving^[+] Jews stirred up and embittered the souls of the Gentiles against the brothers. ³Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who testified to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands. ⁴But the multitude of the city was divided. Part sided with the Jews and part with the apostles. ⁵When some of both the Gentiles and the Jews, with their rulers, made a violent attempt to mistreat and stone them, ⁶they became aware of it and fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, Derbe, and the surrounding region. ⁷There they preached the Good News.
