Acts 17:25

⁸I don’t rebuke you for your sacrifices. Your burnt offerings are continually before me. ⁹I have no need for a bull from your stall, nor male goats from your pens. ¹⁰For every animal of the forest is mine, and the livestock on a thousand hills. ¹¹I know all the birds of the mountains. The wild animals of the field are mine. ¹²If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it. ¹³Will I eat the meat of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

⁵God the LORD, he who created the heavens and stretched them out, he who spread out the earth and that which comes out of it, he who gives breath to its people and spirit to those who walk in it, says:

⁷The LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

²⁸‘For in him we live, move, and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also his offspring.’

⁴The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

³⁵“Or who has first given to him, and it will be repaid to him again?”

⁶If you have sinned, what effect do you have against him? If your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him? ⁷If you are righteous, what do you give him? Or what does he receive from your hand?

²“Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.

¹⁰in whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?

²⁷These all wait for you, that you may give them their food in due season. ²⁸You give to them; they gather. You open your hand; they are satisfied with good. ²⁹You hide your face; they are troubled. You take away their breath; they die and return to the dust. ³⁰You send out your Spirit and they are created. You renew the face of the ground.
