2 Kings 19:14

¹⁴Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to the LORD’s house, and spread it before the LORD.

¹I lift up my eyes to you, you who sit in the heavens. ²Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD, our God, until he has mercy on us. ³Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt. ⁴Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scoffing of those who are at ease, with the contempt of the proud.

¹He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. ²I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”

²⁸Yet have respect for the prayer of your servant and for his supplication, LORD my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which your servant prays before you today; ²⁹that your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, ‘My name shall be there;’ to listen to the prayer which your servant prays toward this place. ³⁰Listen to the supplication of your servant, and of your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Yes, hear in heaven, your dwelling place; and when you hear, forgive.

⁵At the evening offering I rose up from my humiliation, even with my garment and my robe torn; and I fell on my knees, and spread out my hands to the LORD my God;

¹⁰How long, God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever? ¹¹Why do you draw back your hand, even your right hand? Take it from your chest and consume them!
