2 Kings 14:5

³Now when the kingdom was established to him, he killed his servants who had killed his father the king. ⁴But he didn’t put their children to death, but did according to that which is written in the law in the book of Moses, as the LORD commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.”

²⁰His servants arose and made a conspiracy, and struck Joash at the house of Millo, on the way that goes down to Silla. ²¹For Jozacar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, struck him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in David’s city; and Amaziah his son reigned in his place.

³³“‘So you shall not pollute the land where you live; for blood pollutes the land. No atonement can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, but by the blood of him who shed it.

⁶Whoever sheds man’s blood, his blood will be shed by man, for God made man in his own image.

¹²“One who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death, ¹³but not if it is unintentional, but God allows it to happen; then I will appoint you a place where he shall flee. ¹⁴If a man schemes and comes presumptuously on his neighbor to kill him, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.
