2 Corinthians 2:12

⁸Passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas.

²⁷When they had arrived and had gathered the assembly together, they reported all the things that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith to the nations.

³praying together for us also, that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds,

⁹for a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.

⁷“To the angel of the assembly in Philadelphia write: “He who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says these things:

⁸“I know your works (behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut), that you have a little power, and kept my word, and didn’t deny my name.

¹After the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, took leave of them, and departed to go into Macedonia. ²When he had gone through those parts and had encouraged them with many words, he came into Greece. ³When he had spent three months there, and a plot was made against him by Jews as he was about to set sail for Syria, he determined to return through Macedonia. ⁴These accompanied him as far as Asia: Sopater of Beroea, Aristarchus and Secundus of the Thessalonians, Gaius of Derbe, Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia. ⁵But these had gone ahead, and were waiting for us at Troas. ⁶We sailed away from Philippi after the days of Unleavened Bread, and came to them at Troas in five days, where we stayed seven days.

¹Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ,^[+] called to be an apostle, set apart for the Good News of God,

⁸There were many lights in the upper room where we^[+] were gathered together.
