2 Chronicles 9:7

⁸Happy are your men, happy are these your servants who stand continually before you, who hear your wisdom.

⁹He said of his father, and of his mother, ‘I have not seen him.’ He didn’t acknowledge his brothers, nor did he know his own children; for they have observed your word, and keep your covenant.

¹⁴For her good profit is better than getting silver, and her return is better than fine gold.

³⁴Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts.

²⁸But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”

²¹The lips of the righteous feed many, but the foolish die for lack of understanding.

¹⁰For a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. ¹¹For the LORD God is a sun and a shield. The LORD will give grace and glory. He withholds no good thing from those who walk blamelessly. ¹²LORD of Armies, blessed is the man who trusts in you.

³⁹She had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard his word. ⁴⁰But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me.”

⁴¹Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, ⁴²but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

⁴One thing I have asked of the LORD, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in the LORD’s house all the days of my life, to see the LORD’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple.

³Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart.
