2 Chronicles 6:6

¹³For the LORD has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.

⁴However the LORD, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

¹³So King Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem and reigned; for Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his name there. His mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess.

¹Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.

⁶⁸But chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion which he loved. ⁶⁹He built his sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which he has established forever. ⁷⁰He also chose David his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds;

¹⁹Then you spoke in vision to your saints, and said, “I have given strength to the warrior. I have exalted a young man from the people. ²⁰I have found David, my servant. I have anointed him with my holy oil,

³²What will they answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people will take refuge.

¹The LORD said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided a king for myself among his sons.”
