1 Kings 22:48

²⁶King Solomon made a fleet of ships in Ezion Geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.

²²For the king had a fleet of ships of Tarshish at sea with Hiram’s fleet. Once every three years the fleet of Tarshish came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.

²⁸They came to Ophir, and fetched from there gold, four hundred and twenty talents,^[+] and brought it to King Solomon.

¹⁶for all the ships of Tarshish, and for all pleasant imagery.

²¹For the king had ships that went to Tarshish with Huram’s servants. Once every three years, the ships of Tarshish came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.

³⁵They traveled from Abronah, and encamped in Ezion Geber. ³⁶They traveled from Ezion Geber, and encamped at Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.

³⁵After this, Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined himself with Ahaziah king of Israel. The same did very wickedly. ³⁶He joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish. They made the ships in Ezion Geber. ³⁷Then Eliezer the son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, “Because you have joined yourself with Ahaziah, the LORD has destroyed your works.” The ships were wrecked, so that they were not able to go to Tarshish.

²¹When he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to the LORD and give praise in holy array as they go out before the army, and say, “Give thanks to the LORD, for his loving kindness endures forever.”

⁷With the east wind, you break the ships of Tarshish.

⁹Kings’ daughters are among your honorable women. At your right hand the queen stands in gold of Ophir.
